Trails are accessible for hiking, biking, or leisurely strolls. In the winter with an average snowfall of 45 inches, snowmobiling is allowed on the snowy trails with average January lows of sixteen degrees.
Stevens County, home of beautiful Loon Lake, has many opportunities for water activities with 306 lakes, 315 ponds, 125 marshes and swampy areas, and 175 creeks. But should you tire of the water, with just a short drive within the county limits, you have quick access to museums, theatres, cultural and historical areas, as well as engineering feats such as the Grand Coulee Dam. In addition, the local Colville Indians operate the Coulee Casino near the Grand Coulee Dam.
