Surrounded by lush evergreen forests and spectacular mountain views, Lost Lake is a secluded lake near Whistler, British Columbia, Canada which is an internationally known top ski resort area.

Until 1877, the area around Lost Lake was occupied for centuries by the Coast Salish First Nations. In 1877, the area was opened to settlements and soon a steady flow of trappers and prospectors traveled into the majestic snow covered mountains and fertile valleys to seek their fortune. Soon the area became known as a superior fly-fishing location and lodges were soon built to accommodate eager anglers. With road and transportation improvements, the recreational value of the mountains was soon developed with first ski lift in 1966. In 1975, the community of Whistler was recognized as the first resort municipality in Canada.

Lost Lake Park is Whistler’s largest park. Trails of all difficulty levels meander around the lake and are used for cross country skiing and snow shoeing during the winter and walking, rollerblading, biking, and dog walking during the warmer months. In fact, the park and Lost Lake are so dog friendly there is a beach area for unleashed dogs called “Canine Cove” complete with a special doggy dock ramp. People friendly too, the park includes sandy beaches, grassy areas, bathhouse, concession area, and splendid views of Whistler Mountain and Blackcomb Mountains. Stocked annually with trout, anglers use canoes, pontoon boats or float tubes to fish for rainbow trout and bull trout.
