All About Neal's Pond, VT

Along the miles of rolling hills and pastures in Essex County, Vermont, there is quaint body of water known as Neal’s Pond Here you can lose track of time as you sit back and breathe in the fresh air as you watch ducks and geese paddling by you on the water.

Formed by damming Neal’s Branch, which runs south from Lunenburgh till it runs into the Connecticut River, Neal’s Pond is approximately one mile long and a half mile in width. At 185 acres, this lake is a peaceful respite from the hassles of everyday life and offers lake front real estate with cabins and home rentals for your time in this paradise. No matter which season you visit, the view outside the cabin is breathtaking: the pristine whiteness of the snow-covered winter, the blooming rebirth of the landscape as flowers and trees begin to bud, the deep shades of green from the mountain backdrop as the trees spread their leaves, or perhaps the most inspiring, as the fall leaves paint brightly colored landscapes of vibrant hues. With the lake at your doorstep, lake access is convenient for swimming, boating, kayaking, and fishing. Perhaps your catch of the day may include yellow perch, bullhead, chain pickerel, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, pumpkinseed, and northern pike, but any will taste great after a day spent on the pond.
